Dundee United legend Ian Redford has died

The Dundee United community was left shocked and saddened today by the death of club legend Ian Redford.

Redford was instrumental in United’s run to the UEFA cup final in 1987 against IFK Gothenburg . Redford only recently published his autobiography entitled “Raindrops keep falling on my head” which gave a fascinating insight into the life of the United great.

Ian started his career at neighbours Dundee, aswell as having spells with Rangers. St Johnstone, Brechin and Raith Rovers. He showed that being deaf in one ear was no barrier to playing in the upper echelons of Scottish football.

Our hearts go out to his family and friends at this hard time.
